Great Lens, although very expensive
I suppose if you're looking at this lens, you already know it's expensive. I got it used, so I didn't pay full price, but it still cost almost as much as my D7100. I won't go too into the details on this lens, but it is very sharp, very clear, contrasty, etc. it does way a ton, but on the flip-side it is very solidly built. The main aspect of this lens that I love is that it makes me take better...

The main aspect of this lens that I love is that it makes me take better pictures. Any fast lens will do this, but if you have a DX camera, this lens is the lens with the widest useful focal range that goes down to f2.8. And that is why you should buy this lens. Shooting with this as opposed to a kit lens that only goes down to f3.5 or higher if you're zoomed in, this lens just makes up for what I lack in photography skills. Now I suppose I could just get better at taking pictures and save some money, but lenses like this (and the 50mm f1.4 that I also have) are just a great shortcut. People look better, colors look better, and your pictures look better when you're shooting with a faster lens, at least in my experience. Can you take pictures that look as good with a $100 kit lens like the 18-55? Absolutely. You just have to be much more talented than I am.

Bought used from Adorama. Excellent+ condition. Saved over $300. Fast AF. Accuracy and sharpness to match the 24Mp of my Nikon D7100.

Lens Great / Customer Service lacking
Being a semi-pro I often rely on the used market and this was my second such purchase from Adorama. The lens itself arrived in exceptional quality with very little wear or markings. Unfortunately, it also arrived without a lens bayonet which I have yet to
